Alex Castle knows whiskey. A native of Northern Kentucky, Alex lived in Lexington for ten years – four of which she spent as the distillery shift supervisor at Wild Turkey Distillery – before relocating to Memphis to lead the distilling for Old Dominick Distillery. She holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and received her initial distillery training from a former Scottish master distiller. At Old Dominick, Alex will be responsible for the day to day operations of the distillery, including ordering and receiving of grains, cooking of grains, fermentation and distillation, maturation and finished goods packaging. Alex worked closely with architects on the final design and equipment placement of the distiller itself, and will lead tours and tastings of Old Dominick spirits once the facility is open to the public. She lives in Memphis with her husband and rescues dog, Whiskey.
